Good intentions

Well my menu planning for 12 days went on the fridge and per tradition life shuffled things around.  Funny shifts, forgetting to put the prepped bowl in the slow cooker and my personal favourite (also last night’s dinner) “No. I’m done. Get pizza.”

Here’s how my fortnight was planned out. Keep in mind that I have an almost 2 year old and still do 4 shifts each week.

As you might notice there’s already a bit of shuffling. Mostly to make sure fresh vegetables don’t become slime in the crisper.  The pumpkin in particular I almost lost but thankfully even though I forgot to drop the slow cooker in on Sunday morning it was fine to go ahead on Monday. My husband didn’t even pout when I announced meat-free Monday would simply transfer over to Tofu Tuesday. My fortnight has been a bit hectic so having plans that I can shuffle a bit has been sanity saving.

Heatwave 

So if you’re not in Australia right now you might not know about our completely messed up weather.  I’m in Brisbane where we’re having a pretty feral summer. Actually most of the east coast is. Complete with fire warnings in NSW. Flooding in Perth, Snow in Tasmania and Dad mentioned above average rainfall in Darwin when he called last week. So yeah, #globalwarming and #climatechange.

Yesterday was pretty warm, but my day was red hot, like my nails.

I had an amazing morning catching up with my mummy friends, getting our nails done.  Relaxing afternoon with Daddy and bubby, then a swim and after dinner and bedtime I chilled out in the a/c watching “Suits.” So yeah, winning at life. Today is looking mighty fine too…
