So I’m over 38 weeks now and I’ve been off work for a week… frankly, I’m going bonkers already. With my first child she arrived the night I finished work, so I’ve never had this waiting around experience before. Last … Continue reading
As much I told myself, “Do not start comparing your children,” it’s hard not to compare pregnancies. As this draft begins I’m 31 weeks, and doing my nails noticing that they were so much stronger for pregnancy #1, but then I have way more laundry and dishes in my life… A few weeks ago I actually glued fakes on for a special event. I’m trying to find time to paint my nails this weekend in an effort to strengthen them for another event next weekend. I’ve decided that is not any harder this time around, just my life in general. I have a pretty intense workload to knock over before maternity leave which looked manageable back in March… keeping up with my “Mum life,” has been exhausting, and in that I do include laundry and anything kitchen associated. Hubby started a new job, so if he was inclined to cook, it wouldn’t be after 14 hours at work/on the road. We also have a very firm dinner/bath/bed schedule for the toddler and she sleeps, so any change in that is super rare. Our daughter rewards us for our diligence.
So, the start of this week took everyone except myself to medical care. Hubby and child both sick with fevers, and pup needed his annual check. Turns out he’s got allergies. The struggle is managing all this on broken sleep because coughing and “Mummy, hot, Mummy, thirsty, Mummy, cuddles.” She doesn’t want Daddy, maybe he’s too hot still……See, totally fits my conclusion: My second pregnancy isn’t any harder. Just my life 😂
Good thing I have cute little helper 😉 She’ll be all the help I can stand in a few short months 😂
Well my menu planning for 12 days went on the fridge and per tradition life shuffled things around. Funny shifts, forgetting to put the prepped bowl in the slow cooker and my personal favourite (also last night’s dinner) “No. I’m done. Get pizza.”
Here’s how my fortnight was planned out. Keep in mind that I have an almost 2 year old and still do 4 shifts each week.
As you might notice there’s already a bit of shuffling. Mostly to make sure fresh vegetables don’t become slime in the crisper. The pumpkin in particular I almost lost but thankfully even though I forgot to drop the slow cooker in on Sunday morning it was fine to go ahead on Monday. My husband didn’t even pout when I announced meat-free Monday would simply transfer over to Tofu Tuesday. My fortnight has been a bit hectic so having plans that I can shuffle a bit has been sanity saving.
Here’s hoping I can keep it up.
With another little Ball on the way I’m trying to re-install some old habits. In my uni days I kept multiple calanders and diaries while meeting class times, assignment deadlines, a part time retail job, having a direct sales hobby … Continue reading
So if you’re not in Australia right now you might not know about our completely messed up weather. I’m in Brisbane where we’re having a pretty feral summer. Actually most of the east coast is. Complete with fire warnings in NSW. Flooding in Perth, Snow in Tasmania and Dad mentioned above average rainfall in Darwin when he called last week. So yeah, #globalwarming and #climatechange.
Yesterday was pretty warm, but my day was red hot, like my nails.
I had an amazing morning catching up with my mummy friends, getting our nails done. Relaxing afternoon with Daddy and bubby, then a swim and after dinner and bedtime I chilled out in the a/c watching “Suits.” So yeah, winning at life. Today is looking mighty fine too…
While the name “Life of L Ball,” is fairly open, I’ve been thinking lately about renaming and changing my blog, but any time I get to slow down and have thoughts… I get easily distracted (by my gorgeous daughter) She’s … Continue reading
This story comes to you at 2-3am. Trapped in the nursery chair again. I was blessed with a child that has been known to sleep, so it does my head in when she gets hysterical in the middle of the … Continue reading
